많은 사람들이 털 매머드가 멸종한 시기를
1만 년 전쯤으로 알고 있지만,
이집트에서 피라미드 건설로 한창이던
불과 약 4,000년 전까지만 해도
털매머드(울리매머드)는 살아 있었습니다.
바로 북극해의 브란겔이란 외딴 섬에서 말이죠.
당시 인류의 손길조차 닿지 않았던 곳에서
녀석들은 어쩌다 최후를 맞이하게 된 걸까요?
